"I'm walking away from the troubles in my life." I wish! You've got to run! Even when you do they seem to catch up with you. A German proverb says: "a mishap seldom comes alone". Unfortunately for once they are right. Why??? It's as though you are walking down your life path and you are carrying a backpack, which little by little is being filled with bricks. Sooner or later you are going to break down.
That's a bit what the Travail de Matu AKA "The rain forest thing" was like. A very heavy platform attached to your back. Little demons cling on to your limbs pulling you back and jump on the platform making it even heavier. These little demons are the distractions and acts of procrastination, which kick us off track. The weight (yes, measured in Newton) of the platform symbolizes the pressure you are under. Never and this is very important NEVER PROCRASTINATE, PLAGIORIZE, COPY, STEAL OR FORGET TO CITE YOUR SOURCES!!! The consequences can be catastrophic as we reminded none-stop last year. "If you plagiarize all your exams will be annulled and you'll have to wait 3 years to re-take them. In extreme cases you'll never be allowed to pass them again EVER!!! In either event you will not be able to inscribe at this school. We trust you and once you have broken this trust, there is no going back." No pressure then... That really helps you relax and do a good job! Exams annulled... Excluded from the school... Do everything again...
Now depression is different => it's like being in a snow globe with a thunderstorm cloud above your head. The walls of the snow globe are your isolation. The cloud and rain are your unhappiness. The thunder are mood discharges. Sudden anger or extreme anguish overtake you without you being able to do anything about it. You have no control over you emotions: you laugh out loud without wanting to or the next minute you are pulling your hair out with rage. That would metaphorically describe it. So many people seem to be depressed these days...
Forgot to add something to the "What do YOU think is worse/better?" rubric, so here it is:
Would you rather be insulted or ignored?
Say, for instance you are sitting in an empty classroom and two people come in and one of them says: "No one is here." ("Hello? What am I? Chopped liver?") That would be them ignoring you (hate it when people do that!!!) OR one of them says: "No one OF VALUE is here." ("Excuse me??? Who were you looking for? The Queen of England?!") That would be them insulting you. Both would be annoying in the long run...
Invented a new er... thing. Quote or whatever the word is: "You'll be about as faithful as Liberace was hetero!" (He was ubber gay; more than Elton John could ever be; people were surprised, but L was so obviously gay, they must have been blinder than a mole to not realize it! I could have told them that from the beginning!) An alternative is: "You'll be about as faithful as Liberace was interested in women!"
Rhubi (nickname for Rhubarb), you asked a while back how those (strong) feelings (for Claire) came about, since it never was answered here’s the response ==>> you try being insulted, ignored, being used as a ("none-paybackable") bank and being thrown aside like a piece of rubbish AND still getting along with the person!!! Not only that, but she was really annoying. I mean: "I'll just sit with you 'cos I don't have my stuff." and when you tell her that you don't have it either she pisses off and leaves you sitting there looking like a lemon. W(hat)T(he)H(eck)??? Thank you for being SO nice. "Where's my money? I want my money! I want my name!" (Modified "A view from the bridge" quote.) Still, I don't hate her. Oh, no! You can only hate one person, much like you can only love one person (yes it does say further down that I believe that you CAN love two people at once, but that's not what most people think). I hate Nussbaum and she won't live to regret our next meeting. She may find that she has been accidentally brutally decapitated whilst combing her hair one of these days!!!
Anyway, that's all there is to say EXCEPT I should stop adding random people to MSN.
Toodles.
